Ed Van Ness, a local hunter and resident of Botetourt County, wrote into the Roanoke Times to explain why he thinks bringing wind to Botetourt County is a good idea.
“Hunters care about habitat protection, wildlife population health, and access to land. Wind energy promotes all three. By giving land a second beneficial use, wind energy keeps large tracts of land from development and clear cutting.”

Mr. Van Ness listed outseveral other reasons why he supports Rocky Forge Wind, including that it boosts the county’s tax revenues while preserving the rural character of the area.
