“As a wind farm developer, I always try to work closely with landowners, local officials, and the public to answer questions about a project. I understand the concept of building a wind farm in Botetourt County is new, and I see my role as a facilitator to ensure the perspectives of all stakeholders are considered in project planning.
I am proud to help build new wind energy projects in Virginia, especially in Botetourt County, being a Roanoke County native. This wind project will offer the state an energy resource that is safe, inexhaustible, and emission free. Wind energy is putting thousands of Americans to work in high-quality jobs that boost economic development throughout the nation.
Wind energy also offers landowners another ‘crop’ that provides a supplemental income, whether it rains or shines. It allows our domestic sources of natural gas and coal to be stretched further, conserving these natural resources for future generations.
I believe wind energy works uniquely well in rural communities like those in Botetourt County, and it offers an important business opportunity for the families who live here. Apex will work to ensure the Rocky Forge project meets the highest standards, and I believe it will be a source of pride for Botetourt County for years to come.”
