Rocky Forge Wind received rave reviews about the open house it held at Eagle Rock Elementary last week, according to an editorial in the Roanoke Times. The editorial cited the benefits Rocky Forge would bring to Botetourt County and the notable lack of opposition to the project.
The piece quotes Supervisor Jack Leffel, who thought he would be run out of town for supporting the project; instead, the idea was welcomed by the Eagle Rock Ruritan Club, which regularly serves as a sounding board for Leffel’s initiatives.

According to the editorial board, “It’s also clear that Apex understands its target audience around Eagle Rock. At the open house, the company was giving away free caps—in a camouflage pattern, with a wind turbine in blaze orange on the front. By evening’s end, almost all of them had been snatched up.”
